Berry Lane Medical Centre is looking for a motivated, efficient, and highly organised Band 3 Phlebotomist to join our vibrant team. Could this be you?

As a progressive and friendly 10 GP training practice located in our modern, purpose-built premises in Longridge, at the heart of the Ribble Valley, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care and fostering a supportive work environment.

We are looking for an experienced phlebotomist to work at the practice 4 days per week. A typical day will run from 8am - 2pm, however we can be flexible with hours.

Main duties of the job

• Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample
• Collection of sample(s)s of blood in accordance with training and procedures
• Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers
• Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity
• Checking patient identification against clinician request and confirming with patient whenever possible
• Recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with Practice procedure using the ICE and EMIS system
• Ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion.
• Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff
• Notifying the GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues
• Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team
