Job summary
We are looking for a friendly and caring individual to join our expanding team of nurses and HCAs. You will already be a Healthcare Assistant, ideally working in general practice with experience of SystmOne, although this is not essential.
This is a varied role where the successful candidate will be given training and support to enable them to carry out their role successfully.
This role can be full or part time and includes some 7:00 starts or 20:00 finishes.

Main duties of the job
This is a varied role which can be tailored to the experience and competencies of the successful candidate.
The main responsibilities include
-phlebotomy
-undertaking various physiological measurements such as BP, ECG, INR and urinalysis
-conducting NHS healthchecks and advising on lifestyle
-administering vaccines and B12 injections
- dressings and wound checks
- assisting with minor operations
- diabetic checks
- smoking cessation

- Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training
- Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted
- Give accurate and appropriate information to patients and groups within own competence

- 24 hr ECG and checking ECG machine
- Temperature, height and weight - body mass index
- Venepuncture

- Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory

In addition to supporting the nursing team, undertake the above tasks as well as the following for other registered patients of the practice, within own competence:
- Dressings, including leg ulcers
- Removal of sutures and clips
- Dopplers
- Cryotherapy
- INR star
- New Patient Medicals and NHS health checks
- Monitor fridges
- Assisting GPs with minor ops
- Tidying and restocking Drs rooms
- Other clinic as defined by the partners
