Job summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Receptionist / Administrator to join our friendly and supportive GP practice team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has experience working in a GP surgery and enjoys working in a busy, patient-facing environment. The role offers a varied mix of reception and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who is organised, proactive and confident working as part of a team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients and the wider practice team, ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient and compassionate service.

Previous experience working in a GP practice is essential.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve a combination of reception and administrative tasks, including providing a professional and welcoming first point of contact for patients, managing incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries, and booking and managing patient appointments. The successful candidate will also support with processing prescription requests and patient queries, assisting the clinical and management teams with administrative duties, maintaining accurate patient records using the clinical system, and processing documents including scanning and coding patient information. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the practice and ensure patients receive an efficient and high-quality service.
