Job summary

We're looking for a Salaried GP/GP's in Hackney.

Lower Clapton Group Practice is looking to recruit Part-time permanent Salaried GP's to join our vibrant, expanding Practice in Hackney, East London. Start date as soon as possible.

Job responsibilities

Main tasks of job:

Clinical Responsibilities

  1. In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.

  2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.

  3. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

  4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

  5. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.

  6. Providing counselling and health education.

  7. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

  8. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

  9. Collecting data for audit purposes.

  10. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).

  11. Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

  12. Ensuring that all work carried out which carries a private fee is properly recouped and accounted for; e.g. Medical Reports, Insurance reports, Private letters to third Parties etc.
