Job summary

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our large, friendly GP surgery. We are a training GP practice.

We are based over two sites (East Molesey and Thames Ditton, Surrey). We serve a community of approximately 18,000 patients.

We are a busy surgery with GPs working alongside a multidisciplinary team including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Specialist Nurses, Practice Nurses, in surgery Paramedics and visiting paramedics (for home visits). All are supported by a large administrative and management team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the GP team and undertake a variety of duties including telephone and face to face surgery consultations. The GP will be on a rota to support the Triage sessions, undertake routine clinical sessions and also support the Duty doctor rota (dealing with more urgent on the day consultations). Visiting paramedics undertake the majority of home visits but GPs are involved with visiting palliative patients and also support the local care homes. The surgery has a website form which enables patients to e mail the surgery to request appointments and communicate with requests for fit notes, queries, etc. We use the EMIS system.

We offer flexible working and the role of Admin GP (a day when a GP is put on the rota to process blood tests and general patient test results) means that our GPs are not required to work later in the day following up on patient test results and administration.

About us

The GP surgery has a large patient list of ever increasing diversity and complexity. The work is varied and interesting. The GP surgery also supports the local federation and offers a wide variety of community services.

We are a large partnership led surgery. We are forward looking in our approach to patient care. We are constantly reviewing service delivery with a view to improving our services. We are currently part of a collaborative working project.

We encourage staff development and learning.
