opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly
and supportive clinical team at Abbey House Medical Practice. We are seeking an enthusiastic, pro-active
and automatous practitioner to work within the Nursing team. There is never a dull moment - if you are looking for a job that offers great variety working within a large friendly team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
This is a permanent position with up to full time hours available; working up to 8 hours per day between 8am-8pm Mon-Sat
Pay range: £16.30-£19.75 per
hour for non-prescriber depending on experience
Main duties of the job
Within the role of the Practice Nurse, the post holder will deliver evidence based care within their professional competence and manage the care of patients with long term health conditions in addition to providing all aspects of nursing duties including wound care, vaccination, cervical cytology screening and health promotion. The post holder will also support and supervise Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants.
Specialist interest and experience is preferable in at least one of the following areas:
- Child immunisations
- Family planning
- Cervical screening
- Respiratory
A willingness to train in the identified areas is essential for the right candidate if no previous experience.
A basic knowledge of computers is essential. Previous use of SystmOne would be an advantage however full training will be given.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.

We are a large
practice based over 2 sites in the market town of Daventry and surrounding
villages, with a patient population of roughly 22,500 patients. We are a professional and supportive team of
GPs, GP Registrars, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Mental
Health Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants. In addition to a team of growing MDT team and a dedicated Patient Support and Medical Secretarial team.
