Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly GP practice team.

We are seeking a warm, confident and highly communicative individual to join us as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, can build rapport easily, and is able to communicate clearly, sensitively and professionally with patients from all backgrounds.

You will work closely with GP's, practice nurses and administrative staff to ensure a smooth, efficient service and a positive experience for our patients.

This is a 22.5 hour role, covering Wednesday to Friday each week.

  • Communicate effectively with patients during one-to-one appointments, including health checks and lifestyle discussions
  • Perform clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight and BMI
  • Undertake phlebotomy and obtain samples for testing
  • Support chronic disease management reviews under the guidance of the nursing team
  • Administer selected vaccines and injections
  • Conduct NHS Health Checks and support health promotion activity
  • Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, ensuring equipment is clean and stocked
  • Accurately record patient information using clinical systems
  • Support clinicians during minor surgery and coil clinics
