Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a new Receptionist to join our
team. Practice hours are between 0800 and 1800 hours and flexibility is a must.
The weekly hours for this role are 30 hours
per week.
The ideal candidate will be well motivated and enthusiastic
and have excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
Previous NHS reception experience would be an advantage as well as knowledge of
the SystmOne clinical system.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the
Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other
tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing
levels:
a. Dealing with patient queries, both face to face and over
the telephone
b. Dealing with appointment requests, both face to face and
over the telephone
c. Greeting and directing patients to booked appointments
d. Greeting and directing visitors to the surgery
e. Taking requests for prescription medication
f. Responding to the needs of clinicians during surgery
g. Dealing with incoming tasks from internal and external
sources
h. Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as
necessary
i. Making referrals to, and liaising with, the Community
Nursing Team
j. Handling non-NHS report requests, including collecting
payments from patients for non-NHS services
k. Input and extract information from the Practice clinical
system

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, well-organised and supportive practice team.
The Villages Medical group is led by 1 GP, supported by multidisciplinary team consisting of 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Specialist Practice Nurse, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Trainee Nursing Associates, and 1 Healthcare Assistant. We also work closely with our PCN pharmacists, care coordinators and a social prescribing link worker. The practice is supported and managed by an experienced management team, administration, and reception staff.
The Villages Medical Group has 2 surgeries over 2 areas (Chester-le-Street and Stanley), with a list size of 4,200.
