Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused General Practitioner to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave 6 sessions a week, starting in July 2025.

We welcome both experienced and newly qualified GPs (within 2 years of CCT) to apply.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide routine and urgent GP care to registered patients
  • Collaborate with ARRS team members to provide holistic, coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with clinical governance
  • Contribute to clinical audits and improvement initiatives
  • Participate in MDT meetings and peer discussions
  • Support trainees and junior team members where applicable

About us

QHS is a federation of 14 GP practices in North Southwark, serving 205,000 registered patients. We work closely with the local health and care organisations, including social care, voluntary sector and patient groups to deliver integrated, patient-centered care through the North Southwark Primary Care Network (NSPCN).

New Mill Street Surgery is a friendly and patient-focused practice in Bermondsey, with a registered list of 7,300 patients. The core team includes 4 permanent GPs, advanced nurse practitioner, practice nurse and a team of receptionists/administrators, all working together to deliver high-quality care. The surgery maintains a strong connection with NSPCN, hosting clinics run by a diverse ARRS team, including First Contact Physiotherapists, Apprentice Nurse Associates and Nurse Associates. Patients also have direct access to a dedicated team of care coordinators, social prescribing link workers, and mental health practitioners. Located within walking distance of the North Southwark EA GP hub, New Mill Street Surgery ensures patients have excellent access to out-of-hours appointments, providing flexible care options to meet their needs.
