We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing nursing team here at Forrest Medical Centre. We are looking for a new Phlebotomist to work alongside our experienced practice nurses and HCA, for 15 hours per week.

The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, be comfortable with working with computers, be good at working in a team, as well as being flexible and keen to develop professionally.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Phlebotomist, preferably one who has worked in primary care before. Applicants should possess the appropriate phlebotomy qualifications. The post holder will provide a general phlebotomy service for the practice.

This includes safeguarding, infection control, health and safety and information governance. They must respect and maintain confidentiality at all times.

The jobholder must only work within their competencies and know when to seek direction from clinical and admin team members. The post will be reportable to the Practice Manager.

It is the postholders responsibility to maintain all annual mandatory training and be willing to participate in additional education programmes appropriate for their role. The postholder must be willing to undertake an annual appraisal and develop their role in line with service and patient needs.
