We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing nursing
team here at Forrest Medical Centre. We are looking for a new HCA to work
alongside our experienced practice nurses and other HCA, for 15 hours per week. Working days will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The right candidate must have excellent communication
skills, be comfortable with working with computers, be good at working in a
team, as well as being flexible and keen to develop professionally.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced HCA, preferably one who
has worked in primary care before. Ideally the candidate would have skills to
include:
- Phlebotomy
- Measuring and recording of blood pressures, pulse rates
and temperatures
- Taking an ECG
- Administration of adult vaccinations
- Urinalysis
- Basic wound care
- Procurement, monitoring and cleaning of medical supplies
and equipment

It is the postholders responsibility to maintain all annual mandatory training and be willing to participate in additional education
programmes appropriate for their role. The postholder must be willing to undertake an annual appraisal and develop their role in line with service and patient needs.
