Job summary
Due to retirement , We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Healthcare Assistant with experience of working within a general practice environment to join our busy and friendly team.
Working 20 hours per week over 4 days, Mondays 8-5, Tuesdays 8-12 , Wednesdays 8-12 and Thursdays 8-12
You will work strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols under the direct supervision of GP's and practice nursing team, you must be competent in phlebotomy and working with patients with long term conditions. You wiull support the clinical team in the provision and delivery of quality health and care services .
Main duties of the job
- The successful candidate must be able to use Emis web and be accurate and contemptuous record keeping off all patient contact using appropriate templates and read coding.
About us
we are a friendly, forward thinking, supportive training practice with around 8600 patients. We have an extremely friendly team consisting of 5 GP partners (3 male 2 female), 3 practice nurses, 1 Mental health practitioner, 1 GPA, in house Physios and social prescriber an Admin and a reception team and a prescription clerk.

- Diabetic Foot Checks
- NHS health checks
- smoking cessation
- Administer FLU/pneumococcal vaccines under PSD
- Administer B12 injections under PSD
- Spirometry/Reversibility under PSD
- ABPM
- Chronic disease management as applicable
- Assist with Minor Ops
- recognise changes and abnormalities in patients conditions and act accordingly - notifying GP/Nurse of any significant issues
- Stock control and ordering
- Fridge temperature recording
- Legionella/Water temp checks and recording
- Awareness of national standards of infection control and clenliness and regulatory/ contractual/ professional requirements and good practice guildelines.
- Act as chaperone
- Maintain confidentiality#Recall system for clinics
- Undertake administrtive duties ewhen required assisting with QOF
- Make suggestions for omngpoing development
- Processing of patient samples
- safe mangement of sharps procedures, including training , use, storage and disposal
- waste management
- spillage control procedures
