Data Quality and IT Assistant

Job summary

We are excited to be able to offer a Data Quality and IT Assistant role at Leeds City Medical Practice. This is a great opportunity for a 1st line technical support engineer or data analyst. You will be eligible for the NHS pension, up to 33 days holiday and access to an Employee Assistant Programme.

The postholder will work closely with the operations, business and nurse managers to maintain and improve quality of data to ensure effective services are delivered. Ensuring cohorts of patients are identified accurately to inform reports and audits to improve patient care and maximise income streams.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in Excel, with knowledge of maintaining hardware and software used in General Practice. Ensuring that team members have access to correct software appropriate to their roles, offering a solutions focused approach to support the team with IT problems and escalating issues that cannot be solved locally to the Primary Care IT provider.

Main duties of the job

Updating SystmOne Templates, for clinicians to ensure that recording of patient information is consistent using the same Read Codes.

Develop templates, using Read Codes for the purpose of extracting data for the use of audits.

Set up and maintain new users according to practice protocol, ensuring they have access to required applications: AccuRx, Smartcards, E-mail, Windows, Lexacom, ICE to support their role.

Manage the clinical phone systems, including liaising with external phone providers to ensure reliable service and timely resolution of technical issues.

Ensure clinical systems are set up to comply with technical requirements to enable accurate data extraction to maximise income. Facilitate claims to ensure income streams from Local Enhanced Services and Directed Enhanced services are received, including stock reconciliation (eg. PPA Claims).

Complete audits and searches to produce reports identifying cohorts of patients requiring recalls for Chronic Disease.

Where appropriate, report IT faults to the helpdesk and follow-up until resolved.

Support the Administration Department Team Leaders to resolve any transmission issues with the electronic links
