Job summary

We are seeking a phlebotomist to join our friendly, hardworking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining blood samples from patients in a professional caring manner, whilst demonstrating high standards with regards to infection control and good working practices. They will work closely with the wider GP team: Doctors, Nurses teams, Primary Care Network staff and administrative team, to support the delivery of effective clinical services.

Main duties of the job

To run Phlebotomy clinics, collecting blood samples from patients within timed appointments. They will be able to show patience, have a caring attitude and be able to put patients at ease. They will order stock from the hospital and ensure that all rooms are stocked with appropriate items.

Rising Brook Surgery is a busy GP Training Practice. We have a list size of 9,000 patients. The Clinical team includes GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Clinical Pharmacist, and Social Prescribers, who are all supported by a comprehensive administrative team. We strive to promote excellent patient care and are forward thinking, being proactive in screening and promoting clinical care to our patients. We are a friendly team, looking to recruit a phlebotomist to work alongside our caring, hardworking team.

They will be required to perform venepuncture on different age groups and maintain clinically accurate electronic records. They will manage their own clinic and on occasion will liaise with internal and external clinical and administrative staff over the telephone.
