General Practice Pharmacy Technician

Job summary

At Hereford Medical Group we are currently looking to hear from any enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our existing pharmacy team.

This role does not require experience of working within a general practice and is open to soon to be qualified or newly qualified pharmacy technicians.

Within this role you will be supported by our Lead Practice Pharmacist

Main duties of the job

For the candidates who may not have significant GP practice experience, we will provide comprehensive in house training to support them in their development, over a 9-12 month period (dependent on progress).

Within this role you will be involve supporting the practice pharmacist and prescription clerk teams in medicines optimisation and reconciliation, maximising safe and cost effective prescribing and improving patient outcomes

You will be supporting the pharmacy team with undertaking medication reviews and priortising patients, for example polypharmacy, strong opioids, high risk medications and those with unplanned hospital admissions.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE in Maths, English and science or equivalent BTEC
  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and annual revalidation

Desirable

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent
