Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. The sucessful post holder will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing care to our patient population, monitoring of long term conditions, health prevention & screening, they will work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of our population & support the delivery of practice policies & procedures.
this position is part time working 2 days a week, preferably a monday being one of the days.
hours are 8.30am - 6pm.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse who
will fulfil core responsibilities of the role such as: Long Term
Condition management, wound care management, Cytology, Child Immunisations,
Vaccinations Contraception, Swabs, specimens, bloods, blood pressures,
infection control, keeping accurate and detailed health records on EMIS. ( SystmOne from 27.01.2026)
A key role in QOF/PEP achievement, Involvement in the MDT of
the Surgery. This role may support the wider team with: Clinical audits,
Safeguarding concerns, Support and participate in shared learning over the
Practice Support for GPs in patient care. Ability to review clinical practices
and respond to national policies and initiatives where necessary. Participate
in local initiatives in order to enhance local patient care where necessary.
About us
Fenham
Hall Medical Group is a busy GP Practice with 8 Doctors, Paramedics,
Pharmacists, Practice nurses & Health care Assistants. The Clinical staff
are supported by the Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager & 11 Administrative staff.
Our extended team consist of Mental Health Workers, Social Prescribers, Physiotherapy, Counsellor & Dietitian.
We are a teaching practice and host GP Registrars, Foundation level 2 Doctors
& medical students. Our current patient list size is 10,935. We use EMIS clinical system, however we are migrating to S1 in January 2026, our last CQC rating was good.

- Urinalysis
- ECGs
- Year of Care and Chronic disease Management such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension,
- Spirometry
- Venepuncture
- Cervical cytology smear tests
- Health Screening
- General health advice
- Routine immunisations / Child Immunisations
- Routine Injections
- Contraception
- Travel Clinic
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to other nurses or GPs as appropriate
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
- Participate in maintaining Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
- Undertake housekeeping duties including, general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms keeping a clear work surface culture
- Ordering of stock to maintain safe stock levels & cash control
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain safe stock levels & cash control
- At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate and contemporaneous records
- A duty to advise Practice manager and Partners of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
- Flexibility of working to ensure sufficient cover is provided for nurse holidays/sickness
- Maintain effective liaison with other agencies & staff concerned with patient care
