Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Primary Care Network.

The Newcastle Inner West PCN is a network of five practices located in Newcastle West End with a combined list size of approximately 53,000 patients. We are a collaboration of 5 practices; Prospect, Dilston, Betts Avenue, Fenham and Elswick surgeries.

We care for a diverse patient population in an area of high deprivation with many social issues.

The PCN Manager Role would suit a candidate with strong healthcare management background, although this is not essential.

The PCN Manager role exists to support the delivery of the Primary Care Network agenda.

The PCN Manager will form an integral part of the PCN leadership team working alongside the Clinical Director and the PCN board members.

The PCN Manager will act as point of expertise, coordinate the successful achievement of all governance requirements, translate national and local policy into meaningful changes, and will support practices to achieve improved outcomes for the local population. They will also liaise with the PCN Managers of other PCNs as well as a wider range of stakeholders.

The contract for this post will be held by Dilston Medical Centre

Main duties of the job

Project administration for all network projects - booking meetings and managing diaries, note taking, managing actions, driving steering groups and maintaining records/capturing actions and reporting progress to the Board via a project dashboard

Arrange and co-ordinate Inductions and Rotas of all ARR Roles within the PCN and participate in the monitoring of their performances in conjunction with their Line Managers.

To play a pivotal role in the delivery of high quality primary health care within Inner West PCN

Support the PCN Clinical Director and board to ensure the smooth running of the Networks

Single point of contact for practice managers; where space available you will spend time in practices supporting the practice managers, increasing working at scale to improve efficiency within the PCN

Facilitate a PM gathering monthly, be driven by PM group but seek to create and implement new work streams promoting shared learning and best practice e.g. shared policies, workflow, CQC

To be involved in the management and development of the Network

Undertake Network specific bid writing

To be responsible for the production of performance and quality reports within the Network and other Network initiatives

Ensure the PCN is compliant with the GDPR and FOI along with other relevant legislation and professional information management standards such as GMC/BMA and LMC guidance

We are a well established PCN, with a close and supportive Board participation and the successful candidate would work in collaboration with our 5 experienced Practice Managers

The role will be eligible for NHS Pension and we would be happy to consider a flexible working pattern, full or part time, subject to a minimum of 25 hours per week.
