This is an exciting opportunity for a GP, either newly qualified or
experienced. Salary is competitive and negotiable upon experience, and we are
looking for a maximum of 8 sessions per week.
We are happy to consider a number of GPs working fewer sessions, and we can be flexible on days.
We are an expanding practice with a strong local reputation, caring for
our diverse patient population from a single site. We are looking for an
enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual who will thrive on the
challenges of working in tight knit supportive Primary Care team. The
successful applicant will work autonomously but supported by our friendly and
experienced clinical and admin teams. We encourage the development of our
practice team, and currently teach year 3rd Medical Students and the
successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved with this. We became a GP Training practice in August 2024.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of our clinical team providing GP appointments by way of;
pre booked routine and minor ailment same day surgeries, 12 appointments per session in 15 minutes slots, with allocated time for follow ups and results
covering regular on call duties
home visits

The practice
follows a "Year of Care" model for long term conditions and has been
commended for our patient care in this area.
Our clinical team
meet weekly to review training and shared learning, and GPs meet daily to
discuss morning sessions and allocate home visits. The practice participates
fully in the work of the Inner West PCN, and is a member of NGPS Federation and
uses the services of the pharmacy hub.
We currently have a
clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 ANPS.
Supported by 2 Practice Nurses and 2 HCAs. Our clinicians work alongside a
strong and experienced admin team. We pride ourselves on our
supportive and caring ethos, and aim to support our team to achieve a healthy
work-life balance.
We are offering a
competitive salary, dependent upon experience. Medical indemnity will be paid and the equivalant of 7 weeks annual leave, to include CPD.
Bank Holidays are
pro rata to work patterns to ensure fairness for everyone.

To provide Medical Services to FHMG patient list.
2. DIMENSIONS
Fenham Hall Medical Group has a list size of 10600 patients. The Partnership consists of 4 GP Partners. The GP Partners are supported by 4 salaried GP, a practice nursing team and other non-clinical staff.
The salaried GP will be accountable to the Partnership via Dr Paes, Senior Partner.
3. KEY RESULT AREAS
- To provide medical services including essential, additional and enhanced services to FHMG patients.
- To refer or facilitate on behalf of patients in the practice to other service provisions which will support their better health and well-being
- To ensure that prescribing is kept within practice policy
- To collect medical / statistical data as required by the Practice ensuring data collection and entry within Practice policy
- Use the EMIS Web clinical computer system to record all consultations and prescriptions issued and ensure complete and comprehensive records are maintained.
- To work as a member of the practice and with all members of the healthcare team.
4. FUNCTION and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responding to medical problems presented by patients of the practice, including history-taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate, and providing appropriate healthcare and advice
- Contributing to the establishment of and subsequently maintaining appropriate systems to manage chronic diseases, e.g. asthma, diabetes, chronic heart disease, mental health etc.
- Carrying out home visits where required
- Taking part or assisting in practice audit
- Clinical administration related to the delivery of medical services.
- Providing free certification in accordance with appropriate regulations.
- Maintaining manual and electronic patients clinical records.
- Engaging in appropriate teaching and learning activity to maintain professional competence.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the practice.
- Attending Primary Healthcare Team meetings and other meetings as may be necessary
- Undertaking to supply information/reports for non-NHS purposes, e.g. insurance medicals, etc, subject to clinical priorities
