Job summary

The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, experienced and cable to work with their own initiative. You will be able to compile a comprehensive and chronological medical summary from the patient record and input this into the patient computer records utilising the Good Practice guidelines.

The successful candidate will have a clinical background and have previous experience of working in a clinical setting or experience of using clinical coding systems.

Main duties of the job

Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patients medical history

Knowledge of medical terminology

To help ensure other staff members are aware and understand the importance of coding correctly

Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions.

Review all clinical letters ensuring they are processed appropriately, in line with extant protocols

File and store records as required

About us

We have two sites, one in the rural village of Croston, Leyland and another in Eccleston, Chorley. This role is based at our Eccleston site and you will be amongst a team of 10 group members. We are a hard working, friendly and supportive team. Holidays are 22 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time working) and there will always be an opportunity for some overtime working when needed. You will be provided with in-house training and support during the probationary period.We are constantly growing and evolving as a practice and are looking to replace the role of Clinical Coder.
