We are looking for an enthusiastic and welcoming Front of House Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive practice team.

As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Job responsibilities

As a key member of our reception team, you will:

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner
  • Manage appointment bookings and maintain the computerised appointment system
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries appropriately
  • Support patients with online forms and general practice enquiries
  • Process and distribute prescriptions
  • Provide administrative support including filing, scanning, photocopying and data processing
  • Ensure patient information is handled securely and confidentially
  • Help maintain a tidy and organised reception area
  • Assist colleagues and provide guidance to less experienced team members
  • Help with opening/closing the practice and maintaining security
  • Support the team across multiple sites when required

Please note: This role includes weekend working on a rota basis.

  • We're seeking someone who is:

  • Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Calm and professional under pressure
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Empathetic and patient when supporting patients
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience
  • Previous customer-facing role.

Desirable

  • Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience working within the NHS or a GP Practice
  • Knowledge of System One
  • Experience handling confidential patient data
