Job summary

The job holder will be responsible for the provision of an efficient, comprehensive secretarial and administration support service to the Practice.

Good communications are extremely important within the Practice, with patients and with outside agencies and you will be expected to help ensure that everyone who encounters it holds the Practice in high regard. Absolute discretion is required in protecting patients confidentiality.

Main duties of the job

  • Typing of correspondence and reports
  • Liaising with patients regarding referrals and appointments
  • Liaising with secondary and tertiary care
  • Maintaining a contact database
  • Data entry to ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled.
  • Attend training courses as and when requested, to do so for the mutual benefit of the employee and employer, on the understanding that no expense will be incurred by the individual save for refreshments.
  • Carry out any other duties as mutually agreed between employer and employee.
  • Scan all Medical reports/examinations carried out by GPs into the notes.
  • Send Medical Reports to appropriate addresses/solicitors and raise invoices
  • To check off payments received and to follow up non-payments.
  • To always maintain strict confidentiality.

  • GSCE English
  • Microsoft Office/Word Processing
