Dispenser GP Practice

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our dedicated and hardworking small friendly dispensary team based at Cotswold Medical Practice. We are looking for Dispenser (GP surgery based) who can bring a friendly, caring and professional service to our patients. If you hold a dispensary NVQ qualification, we would love to hear from you, however we also welcome applicants interested in training for this role and will support you in training and completing your NVQ.

Main duties of the job

• Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
• Ordering enough medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet patient demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions and file correctly to ensure maximum payments are received with minimal losses.
• Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
• Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that dispensary is kept clean and tidy.
• Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.

Cotswold Medical Practice comprises of two surgeries, one at Moore Health Centre in Bourton in the Water and the other at Westwoods surgery in Northleach.
