Deputy Practice Manager
Partners in Health (part of GDOC LTD)
We are looking for a Deputy Practice Manager (DPM) to join our Partners in Health (PiH) practice on Stroud Road Gloucester, the successful candidate will also have responsibilities for the Branch site in Quedgeley. The Practice has experienced GP leads, a stable clinical and non-clinical workforce and serves a deserving population in the centre of Gloucester. Having recently volunteered to participate in the General Practice Improvement Programme, we can say with confidence that that practice is well run, efficient, and constantly improving. There is also the opportunity to work in conjunction with our Gloucester Health Access Centre (GHAC) Deputy Practice Manager splitting some common tasks across sites to improve efficiency and ensure standardisation.

Hours: 28-37.5 hours a week; can be flexible for the right candidate
Initially 25 days leave per annum + bank holiday-pro rata
Salary; Dependent on experience (benchmarked against DPM norms in Gloucestershire); reinforced by excellent NHS pension.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
- Line management of the administration team at PiH (both sites) including oversight of training, continuous development, and appraisals.
- In conjunction with Team Leads, ensure comprehensive and safe rota fill for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Responsible for routine facilities management at the Practice and branch site to include that buildings, services and facilities are effectively maintained including in conjunction with Lead Nurse infection control.
- Responsible for routine equipment management and maintenance at the Practice and branch site including testing, security, and repairs. This is to be done in line with legislative and insurance requirements.
- Responsible for Health and Safety at PiH and branch site, possibly expanding to across both Gloucester sites. This will be done working in conjunction with our GHAC DPM.
- Responsible for detailed work submitting NHS claims at PiH and possibly expanding across both Gloucester sites; This will be done working in conjunction with our GHAC DPM and in accordance with G DOC LTD standard practice.
Working Conditions
This job is primarily Gloucester-based but you will be required to travel independently between GDOC's services in Gloucestershire including Gloucester and the Forest of Dean and to attend meetings etc hosted by other agencies throughout Gloucestershire and, occasionally in other areas of the UK.
Frequent prolonged VDU use.

G DOC LTD is owned by all the GP Practices in Gloucestershire; the Practices are our shareholders.
We operate on a not-for-profit basis: any profits are redistributed into primary care in Gloucestershire.
We are a limited company run by a Board of Directors, most of whom are experienced local GPs.
We run a number of GP practices, as well as some other services for the whole county.
In Gloucester we run 9,500 patients at Gloucester Health Access Centre/Matson Lane (9,500 patients) and Partners in Health (12,400).
In the Forest of Dean, we run two practices, both of which are dispensing: Lydney (7,500 patients), and Blakeney (3,200 patients).
Our countywide services include:
The Enhanced Access Service, which provides GP appointments in Gloucester and Cheltenham at weekends.
Over 17,000 primary care appointments each year at Gloucester Health Access Centre for patients who may need to be seen the same day when their own practice is already full, or who do not have a registered GP. GHAC is open 8am8pm, 365 days a year.
