Job summary

Are you a practice nurse looking for a new challenge in primary care or a nurse wanting to change role & want to be part of a friendly, hard working team?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a lead Nurse at Lydney Practice, heading up the nursing/HCA team, whilst providing excellent care to the community.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the nursing/HCA team
  • Rota planning & appraisals
  • Ensuring all staff appropriately trained & gain skills relevant to service demand
  • Work clinically to provide care for patients- ideally with a Respiratory qualification

Job responsibilities

Job title

Location

The Lydney Practice but working in close collaboration with nursing colleagues in other practices, with occasional travel to other practices in Gloucestershire.

Hours per week

Flexible, but minimum 25 per week. Any weekend work is optional, the post-holder can work weekdays only if preferred.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Mandatory registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Desirable:
  • Post-graduate training in an area relevant to Lydney's services, for example long-term condition management (e.g., respiratory medicine), minor illness or urgent care
  • Nurse Prescriber / commitment to become a Nurse Prescriber
