Job summary
The ARRS funding has created a great opportunity for a GP
who is newly qualified. The post-holder must be within 2 years of completing
their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and not previously been
employed as a GP in General Practice. They will gain some experience working
within a collaborative team in Halesowen. They will manage a caseload and deal
with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the
highest standards of care for all registered patients.
Main duties of the job

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the
post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties,
including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, clinical
triage, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions
and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care
workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with
undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs
of illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation with
patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload
and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to
agreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat
prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing
formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
Report and action appropriately on pathology reports, read
and action all clinical letters via DOCMAN, and complete clinical audits

Halesowen serving a practice population of approximately 9,300 patients, we are
proud to be a GP registrar training practice. We are part of
the Halesowen Primary Care Network (PCN), working collaboratively with five
other local practices to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
