Job summary

The Feldon Practice is a dynamic, well established, friendly, training practice looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Salaried GP to join our team 6 sessions per week.

We are based across two sites, Hawne Lane and Feldon Lane Surgery both sites local to Halesowen town centre.

Main duties of the job

The successful GP will be responsible for delivering the full range of primary care services as part of the Practice, ensuring the highest standards of care for the differing needs of our patient population.

You will work closely with the Practice multi-disciplinary team of Practice partners, GP, Nurses and non-clinical staff to provide a high quality and accessible service to patients.

About us

Our team cares for approximately 9,450 patient and consist of 3 Partners, 1 salaried GP, 5 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA. We are also a training practice for GP Registrars. We have an excellent team of administration/reception staff who offer support and assistance to both our clinical team and our patients. We are a friendly, supportive, approachable team. We are a teaching practice for the university of Birmingham and support portfolio career choices.

We are part of the Halesowen PCN, so have a range of PCN Service to help support our populations health and wellbeing needs.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Job Description:

6 sessions across 3 full days (to be negotiated but Thursday and Friday essential)

One duty day per week with second on call to cover for annual leave when needed- which includes mixture of pre-bookable and on the day triage appointments

Book on the day morning surgery with mix of telephone and Face to face

Pre-booked afternoon/evening surgery with mixture of telephone and face to face

Home visits where needed

Baby checks when required after vaccination clinics

Participation in supervision of ANP who covers the care home rounds on a rota basis

Supervision of ARRS staff and trainees/medical students when needed with time allocation

Occasional extended access (Tuesday evening) cover if needed (to be negotiated re pay/TOIL)

Manage own referrals and participate in QoF

BMA standard salaried contract

Participation in daily shared administrative duties including meds management and general sick note and medication requests

6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave (plus BH in lieu as appropriate)

Be prepared to work across both surgery sites on a rota

  • Annual appraisal and revalidation - when appropriate

  • UK driving licence
  • UK work permit - if required

Desirable

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MRCGP
  • Specialist knowledge of womens health, palliative care and diabetes
