Job summary

We are a busy Town Centre Practice growing rapidly! Due to an increase in patient numbers we are looking to recruit an additional highly motivated, enthusiastic and versatile person. TheHealthcare Assistant post requires you to be flexible, responding to varying demands and changing circumstances as the job requires. Communication, team working and a sense of humour are essential qualities to succeed in this role!

Flexibility to cover additional hours for holidays and sickness are essential. The post requires you to work across 3 sites all in within Doncaster (2 in central Doncaster, 1 in Edenthorpe).

Hours will currently be between 8am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, this may change and weekends may also be required on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work with the team to provide a service to patients. Phlebotomy and collection of data including blood pressure readings, health screening will be undertaken. Further training will be given to progress the role to include administering vaccinations and providing wound care.

The successful candidate will need to be hardworking, conscientious and be focused on patient care.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Nurse Manager

MAIN PURPOSE

To assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. Stock control, infection control, update and amend protocols in line with Nurse Manager. Any other duty advised to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

As part of the nursing team the HCA will be employed to undertake nursing and administrative duties deemed suitable by the partners.

To maintain a safe and effective level of practice and to bring any deficits in training to the attention of the nurse manager so these can be addressed.
