A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified, experienced Paramedic Practitioner to join our friendly, high achieving Practice Team working for Victoria Cross Surgery

We are looking for a Paramedic Practitioner who can also undertake home visits for patients at the practice.

HOURS: 37.5

SALARY: £53,000 Depending on experience

Main duties of the job

You will see, diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illness and see and advise patients in respect of their continuing medical and needs by face to face, telephone or via video consultations.

Conducting home visits for patients registered at the practice.

To deliver a high standard of patient care, working with a team of ACP's, ANP's and Paramedic Practitioners using an in-depth knowledge base with the ability to demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients.

Job responsibilities

The role will provide a specialist Paramedic resource for health care professionals and service users, working in collaboration with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team who will work within the surgery, as an autonomous, accountable, Paramedic Practitioner, in the provision of a holistic approach for individuals including assessment, diagnosis and treatment, to deliver quality patient services. The Practitioner will assess, diagnose, treat, refer or signpost patients/service users who attend surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed condition relating to minor illness or minor injury. The post holder will use advanced clinical skills to provide education to service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.

The post holder must own a vehicle as home visits are an essential part of the role.

Job responsibilities:

Diagnosing and treating patients presenting with minor illness

  • Triage and treat patients wishing to see a health care professional, making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team
  • Patients with problems needing referral to secondary care should be discussed with the registered GP if possible, before making such referral.
  • Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations.
  • Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary
  • Works from the surgery and within communities as an autonomous practitioner caring for patients and families.
  • Works as an autonomous practitioner, in accordance with the Health Professions Council. Ensure that personal and professional clinical standards are maintained.

  • Ensure appropriate items of service claims are made accurately, reporting any problems to the practice administrator
  • Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice

  • Attend and participate in practice meetings as required
  • To ensure Indemnity is kept up to date and annual certificates are passed to management.
