Job summary
Fenland Group Practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Treatment Nurse to join our friendly and professional team. This is a multisite role, and the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work across all of our practice locations as needed. Please note: the role requires availability to work all day on Fridays.
Main duties of the job
As a Treatment Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

Wound care and dressings

Venepuncture
-
Administration of injections and vaccinations
-
ECGs and other clinical monitoring

Assisting with minor procedures
-
Health promotion and patient education
-
Supporting chronic disease management under the direction of GPs and Nurse Practitioners

Clinical Duties:

Perform treatment room procedures including:

Wound care and dressings
-
Venepuncture
-
ECGs
-
Administration of vaccinations and injections (e.g., influenza, B12, travel)

Removal of sutures and clips
-
Assist GPs and Nurse Practitioners in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, COPD, and hypertension
-
Provide smoking cessation advice and general health promotion
-
Support cervical cytology clinics (if trained and up-to-date)
-
Ensure accurate documentation of all clinical care within patient records
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
Teamworking and Communication:
-
Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to support patient care
-
Participate in clinical meetings and ongoing training sessions
-
Communicate effectively with patients, carers, colleagues, and external agencies
Professional Development:

Maintain personal NMC registration and participate in annual appraisals and CPD
-
Keep up to date with current practices and policies within primary care nursing

Attend mandatory training sessions as required
