Strathmore Medical Practice in
Wrexham is looking to recruit a highly motivated Practice Nurse to cover maternity period of 12 months. Ideal candidate to be flexible with working days and hours to suit the Practice. Working days and hours to be discussed at interview. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in Primary Care. We are looking for someone who is able to support the
wider clinical team, triage and prioritise the needs of the patient and demonstrate
safe clinical decision making.
Main duties of the job
Undertake routine and opportunistic
health screening assessments, providing health advice and support.
Support and manage women health including
contraception reviews and cervical screening and sexual health consultations.
Participate in the assessment of all annual health reviews, Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, AF, Learning Disability and Mental Health.
Review patients with hypertension or
CVD risk.
Spirometry testing for diagnosis and annual reviews as per practice and
national guidelines.
Participate in vaccination and
immunisation programmes for both adult and children.
Travel vaccines and advice following
current policies and guidelines.
Autonomously, administer medications
or injections via prescription, patient group direction or patient specific
direction.
Assist in the delivery of the
seasonal flu vaccinations and other vaccinations for at risk patients in
surgery and in the patients home

Strathmore Medical Practice, the largest GP Practice located in Wrexham with over 14,000 patients.
We have 5 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 4 Practice Nurses and 2 HCAs.
Strathmore is also a teaching practice with 2 Registrars. We have an excellent Admin Support Team, Letter Readers, Receptionists and Prescription Clerks. We
