We are looking for full time receptionist to join our large, friendly GP Surgery.
You will be required to work occasional Saturday
mornings on a rota basis.
You will handle telephone calls in a
positive and efficient manner; assist with front desk duties and general
administration. Reception and Customer Service experience preferred.
This is a full-time role for 36 hours per week. Ideally this will be over 4 full days 8 am - 6pm.
Main duties of the job
As part of a
team, to cover receptionist duties on a rota basis in a professional,
confidential and caring manner to provide maximum levels of patient care and
promote the surgery in a positive light.
To contribute
to the smooth and efficient running of reception undertaking all tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.

the maximum level of patient service.
Ensure
patients are dealt with whilst employing the maximum level of confidentiality
and understanding.
Maintain
a high standard of work under pressure.
Deal
with all aspects of work with the utmost discretion and observe the strictest confidentiality.
Answering the telephone lines promptly and
professionally
taking
and passing on accurate messages by task or email as appropriate. At the request of the GPs, return telephone calls on their behalf.
Dealing with members of the public and other
visitors to the surgery forwarding any complaints and patient feedback to the relevant person in the first instance.
- Making appointments using the
surgerys computerised system.
- Assessing and redirecting patient queries via the E- Consult system.
Accurate
inputting of data onto the system including basic scanning of documents.
Answering
enquiries face to face, by telephone and via the website dashboard e.g. changes
of address, prescription requests, providing general information.
Receiving
and instructing new patients
Issuing
prescriptions and dealing with enquiries as per Practice protocol.
