Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Practice Manager to join our expanding primary healthcare team, working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, in the key areas of business delivery and performance.

We are specifically looking for someone who has excellent information management & technology skills, who is passionate about using data to improve delivery and performance, to help our patients receive high quality care.

Salary £30 40K per annum wte depending on experience

Main duties of the job

To support the Senior Management Team to ensure maximum performance against all NHSE KPIs. To effectively co-ordinate Recall Systems, providing support to the Recall and Accessibility Team, ensuring all recalls are managed in line with accessibility and health inequalities needs. To provide support to the Practice Team in all areas of Information Management and Technology in line with our practice development planning.

To support the Senior Management Team to ensure maximum performance against all NHSE KPIs. To effectively co-ordinate Recall Systems, providing support to the Recall and Accessibility Team, ensuring all recalls are managed in line with accessibility and health inequalities needs. To provide support to the Practice Team in all areas of Information Management and Technology in line with our practice development planning.

Monitoring Practice Performance and Targets

To have a clear understanding of all NHSE (NHS England) and ICB (Integrated Care Board) targets and key performance indicators, including

    • Enhanced Services
    • Locally Commissioned Services
    • QOF (Quality & Outcomes Framework)
    • GP Contract
    • PCN DES
    • Medicines Management and Additional Services

To monitor the practice performance against all NHSE targets, providing regular reports for the Senior Management Team, including key areas for improvement in line with the Practice Development Plan.

  • Support and work with the Practice Team to improve performance, providing all necessary training

Build, generate and carry out searches as required by the Team to support agreed audits

Co-ordinate and oversee all claims process, identifying any discrepancies in data

Work alongside the finance team, ensuring income matches performance targets

To oversee the organisation and implementation of the Recall Systems, including Long Term Conditions, Drug Safety, Cytology, Childhood Immunisations.

To ensure all recalls are managed in line with accessibility and health inequalities needs

Information Management & Technology

  • Liaise with the ICB regarding systems procurement, IT funding and national IT development programmes.
  • Effective maintenance of all organisation IT infrastructure, including hardware, office systems, email, telephone, internet and clinical systems, minimising business interruption
  • Provide a local support service to all staff, working with a team to resolve issues with IT systems and equipment
  • Ensure IT back and disaster recovery procedures are in place and effective
  • Provide support to ensure all IT related policies and protocols are up to date

Provide support to ensure there is an effective I M & T training programme for staff

To oversee the security of all IT systems within the practice

Manage the IT Asset Register ensuring it is kept up to date

Ensure that the organisation website information is correct and that the details are in accordance with the GP website benchmarking and improvement tool

  • Manage the process for Smart Card access in line with staff roles and IG policies

Support the Team in the IT related elements of the staff induction programme.

Information Governance

To ensure all GDPR policies and protocols are in place and in managed in line with regulations
