Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant
to join our established team and be a part of our surgery, working 16/18 hours per week
The role of HCA is an essential part of our GP
Practice team who provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services. You
will be working alongside our friendly and patient focused clinical and
management teams, providing an essential support function and delivering the
best care to all our patients. You must work with autonomy and a high degree of
confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact.
Main duties of the job
Undertaking venepuncture and co-ordinating collection of blood
specimens.
Undertaking routine blood pressure checks.
Simple wound care (as determined by the Practice Nurse).
Chaperoning duties.
New patient health checks.
Processing and management of laboratory samples requests by
GPs/ANPs/nurses.
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment, before,
during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the
performance of minor operations.
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it
can be promoted.

organised town centre GMS practice committed to delivery of high quality care
to our practice population of approximately 10500. We are part of a Primary Care Network (PCN).
We are situated in the centre of Stafford across from the train station and beautiful town park.We also have plenty of parking for staff, there is also a very convenient bus service that stops out of the front of the surgery.

- Health and Safety Awareness
- Basic first aid knowledge
- Basic knowledge about Blood Borne Diseases

- Experience of working in a GP Practice
- Knowledge of community development approaches
