Job summary

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and organised professional to work within a close-knit friendly administrative support team. This role is vital to the smooth running of the practice and plays an essential part in supporting our patients and doctors on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job

Working 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday & Friday), your main duties will include daily scanning and coding of clinical letters onto the clinical system, audio/copy typing, use of the electronic referral system WCCG, use of EMIS to update patient records, deal with patient queries regarding referrals and daily monitoring of the secretarial email account.

This post requires the applicant to deal with a wide variety of confidential administrative work in a busy environment so experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

Proficient IT skills, RSA Stage II typing or equivalent experience combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as would a professional, confident, calm, and friendly attitude.

The ability to converse at ease with patients in Welsh is highly desirable but not essential.

About Bro Pedr Medical Group

There are five doctors in the partnership trading as Bro Pedr Medical Group. In addition, there are other fully trained GP's engaged by the practice.

In addition to primary care general medical services, the Practice also runs additional voluntary services such as chronic long-term illness clinics (e.g. asthma, BP, COPD, heart disease, family planning, sexual health etc.).

The Practice has a contract with Hywel Dda University Health Board to provide primary care general medical services under the NHS.

We are an approved training Practice for postgraduate and undergraduate training. We offer GP specialitytraining and Foundation Years training placement for junior qualified doctors. For many years the Practice has been proud to train the next generation of GPs.
