Job summary

Due to the emigration of one of our GPs, Horsefair Practice is seeking a Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team.

We are looking for a GP who is enthusiastic about working within a vibrant, multidisciplinary team and committed to delivering high-quality patient care. Horsefair Practice is a well-established training practice with a large and experienced staff team, offering excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Main duties of the job

6-8 sessions a week required. Seeing patients, admin marking lablinks, signing eps and actioning tasks. We ensure this is a manageable workload for GP's.

Excellent clinical support team including an experienced nursing team and access to Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, MHP, social prescriber, UCP and ANP's

Post Holder may be required to work across Horsefair Practice and Sandy Lane Surgery Rugeley all within a short distance of each other.

The practice uses EMIS Web, Docman and AccuRx,

We are a high-achieving, friendly and forward-thinking GP Training Practice, offering progressive general practice. We have 3 sites across the Rugeley area and two practices with a combined patient list size of approximately 21000 patients.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Accountable to Senior Partners.

Participate in annual appraisal and fulfil the criteria for revalidation with the GMC.

Provide the full range of NHS General Medical Services to the patients registered at the practice.

Participate in enhanced service delivery.

Always maintain confidentiality and obtain informed consent for any course of action undertaken.

Assess and diagnose patients across a wide range of primary health care conditions, order investigations, plan and provide treatment as needed and discharge patients.

Prescribe in accordance with regulations and with the post holders training and registration and in accordance with the ICB and local formulary guidelines.

Undertake screening procedures and record investigations accurately in the medical record.

Analyse and interpret results, record accurately along with actions required.

Provide telephone consultations as required and home visits where necessary.

Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with healthcare and practice administration. Ensuring that all care interventions are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion.

Manage ones own clinical responsibilities and to act as consultant to other clinical staff.

Make appropriate referrals, be responsible for ongoing support to patients, families and carers and the co-ordination of other services.

Ensure that concerns and identified potential risks are referred to the appropriate agency immediately. Ensure compliance with local and national guidelines, policies and procedures.
