Salaried GP

Job summary

We have an opportunity for a GP to join our well established, friendly team in Newton Aycliffe as a salaried GP. This role has arisen due to the retirement of one of our Partners.

We are a two site Practice working from a very pleasant surgery where we look after approximately 13,000 patients. Our stable team consists of 4 Partners, 6 salaried GP's, a Nurse manager/ANP, practice nurses, health care assistants and a clinical pharmacist supported by a full complement of experienced administrators, reception staff and management team.

We have a long legacy in Newton Aycliffe of both undergraduate and postgraduate education and we currently have both GP registrars and medical students at the practice.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a doctor to work 5-6 clinical sessions and are looking for the successful candidate to start in June/July 2026.

We actively support all clinical staff to pursue their special interests and as we have dedicated ANP's to complete patient home visits. GP's do not conduct home visits.

We are a total triage practice and you would join the triage and duty rota providing comprehensive primary medical services to our patients.

About us

We work across our main site at Bewick Crescent and also at our branch surgery at Heighington, where we are a dispensing surgery to our patients.

We have a well established team and offer a wide range of services including long term conditions, diabetic clinics, minor surgery, injections and sexual health.

We use SystmOne and have an internal document management team who code incoming information.

The Practice takes an active part in supporting the work of the PCN and the Federation, where one of our partners is a director.
