We are looking for an experienced HCA to
join our Team
Previous experience in General
Practice would be preferred but is not essential.
Duties will include Phlebotomy, ECGs,
Health checks, assisting in dressing clinics, Diabetic checks, BPs and undertaking Ophthalmology Checks.
The post is for 37 hours a week
The successful candidate would be
working alongside our GPs, Nurses and Acute Care Team to deliver excellent
patient care.

Main duties of the job
Duties are varied and include general nursing tasks such as vaccinations/injections (once suitably qualified), chaperoning, urine analysis, ECGs and BP readings and taking blood as well as ordering medical supplies and re-stocking consulting rooms. You will also assist in the assessment and monitoring of patient health and help raise awareness of health and well-being
About us
Bethesda Medical Centre is a large purpose build surgery based on the cliff top in Cliftonville, Kent with a list size of 19,500 patients.
We have a large multidisciplinary team and provide the East Kent Headache Service and an Ophthalmology Service to patients across the area.
Our practice team consists of 11 doctors (4 partners and 6 salaried GPs), 6 nurses, 3 HCAs and admin & ancillary staff.
We also have attached staff who are based at the practice or visit, and these include:- Mental Health Nurses, Counsellors and physiotherapists.

adhere to health and safety and infection control requirements
Main
Duties (according to training provided)
- To
work alongside clinicians in the provision of patient care
- Undertake
and record the following tasks:
Measurement of height, weight
and bmi
24 hour blood pressure
& 24 hour ECG application
Capillary blood testing
Urinalysis
Measurement of blood
pressure
ECG recording
Venepuncture
Diabetic screening
Diabetic foot check
Assist in Dressing Clinics
Health Checks
Health promotion advice as
appropriate
Restock consulting room

changes in patients recordings and report appropriately
- Enable
patients to access the appropriate professionals in the practice team
- Appreciate
the principles of healthy living and provide dietary advice
- Provide
relevant health promotion literature
- Follow
infection control standards
