Hanham Health are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our Secretarial team following retirement of the current post holder.
The post is part time (15 hours per week) and will be based predominantly at our Oldland Common Surgery - working days to be discussed.
Working as part of our Secretarial Team, you will be involved in all secretarial duties for the practice, including the processing of patient referrals following BNSSG referral pathways, audio typing, answering queries, handling confidential correspondence and assisting patients and our team of GPs with any referral queries
Main duties of the job
Job responsibilities
- To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- To assist the clinicians with any clerical and administrative duties.
- To use referral pathway software as required including Remedy and eReferrals.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries in a polite and professional manner.
- To maintain the computer clinical system (EMIS) in an accurate and secure manner.
- To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required
- To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave. Also assist with cover in other departments (for example Reception as required).
- To Assist in the resolution of any informal complaints as required.
- To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system as needed.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested
