Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day supervision of all reception staff and associated functions including the repeat prescribing, ensuring all functions are carried out in accordance with procedures, protocols and time-scales reporting to the Deputy/Practice Manager as necessary and appropriate. There are 2 vacancies one for Sina Health Centre (25 hrs per week) and one for Ashmore Park Medical Centre (12 hours per week).

Main duties of the job

Knowledge of EMIS web advantage

Reception & leadership experience is essential, IT literate, Microsoft office Word, Excel.

Flexible in approach to working hours

Team player

Able to work on own initiative

About us

Both surgeries have very helpful and friendly staff. We all work to help each other as a team to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

The practices are Covid safe, ensuring patients practice hand cleanliness when visiting. Both surgeries are very well maintained inside and out. They both have adequate parking for patients and staff.

CQC rated good at both practices.

Job responsibilities

Maintain self and team professionalism

To support with putting diaries on for GPs & all clinical staff

Book locum GPs when requested by the Deputy Practice Manager

Keep the Deputy Practice Manager informed of any matters arising or potential problems

Rotas, availability, changes for admin staff

Paper/electronic workflow systems

Attend meetings when necessary with the Deputy Practice Manager

Provide Induction and training for new reception staff

Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept particular reference

to appointments, messages, visits patient registration repeat prescribing, births deaths etc

Report IT problems

Report maintenance faults i.e. lights, doors, building issues as necessary to NHSPS (NHS Property Services)

Ensure communications system are running smoothly and that reception staff are kept fully informed of changes and procedures

Be conversant with Practice Fire Regulations
