Team leader/Reception Supervisor

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day superivision of all reception staff and associated functions including the repeat prescribing, ensuring all funtions are carried out in accordance with procedures, protocols and time-scales reporting to the Deputy/Practice Manager as necessary and appropriate

Main duties of the job

Knowledge of EMIS web advantage

Reception & leadership experience, IT literate, Microsoft office Word, Excel.

Able to work on own initiative

Job responsibilities

Maintain self and team professionalism

To put diaries on for GPs & all clinical staff

Book locum Gps when requested

Keep the Deputy Practice Manager informed of any matters arising or potential problems

Rotas, availability, changes for admin staff

Paper flow systems

Organize duty rotas, co-ordinate leave requests

Update appointment system (EMIS) for leave / changes

Attend meetings when necessary with the Deputy Practice Manager

Assist Deputy Practice Manager with recruitment of new staff

Provide Induction and training for new staff

Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept particular reference

to appointments, messages, visits patient registration repeat prescribing, births deaths etc

Report IT problems

Report maintenance faults i.e. lights, doors, building issues as necessary to NHSPS

(NHS Property Services)

Ensure communications system are running smoothly and that reception staff are kept fully

Informed of changes and procedures

Be conversant with Practice Fire Regulations
