Job summary
Westrop Medical Practice have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic Phlebotomist to join the team to provide high quality patient care and support our busy clinical service. You should have experience of working in General Practice/Primary Care and be prepared to work as part of a varied multi-disciplinary team.
The Phlebotomist will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

Main duties of the job
The Phlebotomist will work under indirect supervision of the nurse team leader and undertakes task and duties delegated by the nurse team leader or a suitably qualified regulated professional. You will work collaboratively with the clinical team to meet the needs of patients of the health centre, following policy and procedure
Perform safe, accurate venepuncture for adults and children
Collect, label, and process blood samples following strict protocols
Maintain a clean, organised clinical environment
Deliver friendly, reassuring care to patients of all ages
Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team
Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions. Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted. Give accurate and appropriate information to patients and groups within own competence.
