Job summary
Orchard Medical Practice is seeking to recruit a nursing associates to join our team of GP's, pharmacist, pharmacy technicians, paramedics, nurses, HCA's, receptionists and admin.
This is an exciting opportunity for an existing nursing associate to join East Ipswich Primary Care Network. The post holder will be directly employed by Orchard Medical Practice but will work across 2 Practices over 1 location.
Main duties of the job
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Support delivery of the new network Directly Enhanced Services
- Actively identify and complete checks for QOF targets
- Work within your competency

Job responsibilities
Job Responsibilities include:
- Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
- Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring
- Facilitate routine 24-hour ECG monitoring
- Administer B12 injections
- Carry out NHS Health Checks
- Carry out phlebotomy
- Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
- Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
- Carry out BMI checks as directed
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Administer flu vaccinations
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Ensure fridges are monitored and cleaned routinely
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
- Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate

- Qualifications if already qualified as a nursing associate
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
