We are looking for an enthusiastic Minor Illness
Nurse/Paramedic to come and join our team at Crocus Medical Practice, which is
a forward-thinking training practice. We are a supportive team with a passion
for teaching, innovation and excellent patient care.
Saffron Walden is a vibrant, picturesque historical market
town in Essex with excellent transport links via road and air, with Stanstead
Airport being closely located.

Purpose of Role
To assess, diagnose, treat, and
manage patients presenting with minor illnesses in a general practice setting.
About us
Crocus Medical Practice is a busy practice situated
in North Essex, close to Cambridge, with close links with Addenbrookes
Hospital.
We are 3 partner GMS practice with 6 salaried GPs,
2 Nurse Practitoners, 3 Practice Nurses and 4 HCAs, working across two sites,
Saffron Walden and Great Chesterford. Both sites are dispensing and we use
Systmone.

- Conduct clinical assessments for conditions like respiratory infections, UTIs, skin issues, and minor injuries
- Diagnose and formulate treatment plans, including prescribing.
- Educate patients on self-care, symptom management, and medication use
- Carry out diagnostic tests (e.g. urinalysis, throat swabs, peak flow)
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals when necessary
- Must be willing to visit Care Homes

- Independent Prescriber
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Experience in managing minor illnesses
- Knowledge of pharmacological treatments for common minor illnesses
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Desirable
- Experience of working within a GP Practice
