Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic GP to come and join our team at Crocus Medical Practice, which is a forward thinking training practice . We are a supportive team with a passion for teaching, innovation and excellent patient care. The successful applicant will work 2-4 sessions a week, including Friday and manage a varied caseload, addressing the health needs of the local population.
Saffron Walden is a vibrant, picturesque historical market town in Essex with excellent transport links via road and air, with Stanstead Airport being closely located.

Main duties of the job
In accordance with practice, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage calls, triage visits, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
To assist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions.
Completion of clinically related administrative and non clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service.
Refer patients for further opinions and interventions according to Practice protocols. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Crocus Medical Practice is a busy practice situated in North Essex, close to Cambridge, with close links with Addenbrookes Hospital.
We are 3 partner GMS practice, working across two sites, Saffron Walden and Great Chesterford. Both sites are dispensing and we use Systmone.

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the

repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)

- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
- Have a valid GMC number.
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
