Job summary
East
Norfolk Medical Practice is seeking to appoint an additional enthusiastic and
hardworking GP Assistant ( GPA) to work
closely with our GPs and the rest of our GP Assistant team. ENMP
established a team of GPAs in 2023, to support our GPs intheir
day-to-day management of patients, specifically aimed at reducing the
administrative burden and making best use of GP consultation time. The GPA role brings so much value and
efficiency to patients and the practice
Our GPA role is a non-clinical
one, focused on providing proactive support to an assigned GP/GPs. The GP
delegates tasks to their assistant that are appropriate and within the remit of
our GPA protocols and curriculum .
The GP Assistants are
provided with training and support to help them develop their role.
We are offering a 35 hour per week contract.
Main duties of the job
The role of the GP Assistant includes
working closely with an Assigned GP. The
GPA will support the GPs smooth running of clinics by performing the more
routine administration tasks of behalf of the GP freeing up their time to focus
on the patient.
- Arranging
appointments, referrals, tests and follow up appointments of patients as
requested by the GP or other clinicians
- Proactively
manage the pathology results of assigned GP
- Proactively
managing some areas of QOF/IIF inviting
in patients for their reviews
- Explaining
treatment procedures to patients
- Monitoring
clinical searches for patients of their own Assigned GP, such as but not
limited to, CQC searches and highlighting exceptions to the GP
