Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for a permanent salaried GP position (6 sessions).
You will join Laurel bank Surgery at a very exciting time as we merge with the Village Surgeries Group on 1st April 2026.
The combined workforce of Laurel Bank Surgery and The Village Surgeries Group, come April will be 4 GP partners, 1 Managing Partner and 75 employees.
We are looking for a salaried GP who is excited and motivated by our ambitions to develop new models of care, as leaders in our integrated neighbourhood. We seek to work closely with, and co-locate where possible, social care, third sector, community and acute sector colleagues.
This role will initially be employed by Laurel Bank Surgery (Malpas) but will be required to work across all 3 sites, also providing sessions to the Village Surgeries Group until 31st March 2026. From 1st April, all staff will be employed by Laurel Bank Surgery and the job plan will be revised for the new operating model.

Main duties of the job
Main Purpose of the Role
To assist with an interesting clinical caseload of an established list of patients.
Deal with a wide range of health needs, maintaining our quality standards.
To work with the the Partners and Staff to continue to develop the practice in response to the ever changing face of primary care, maintaining high standards and traditional practice
To work for 6 clinical sessions (Days TBC to include & Fridays), core hours are 8am to 6.30pm
Take a fair share of home visits when in Surgery (we don't have many).
To participate in the On Call rota on a shared basis.

The Village Surgeries Group (Tattenhall and Farndon) is a two-site rural GP practice with 8000 patients, providing high-quality and caring primary health services to their patients.
We are all based in rural, southwest Cheshire on the boundaries of Shropshire and Wales, within a 30 minutes commute of Chester, Shrewsbury and Nantwich, and offering excellent schools and amenities.
We work from purpose-built premises, and the Malpas site has been through significant extension and refurbishment in 2023.
