We are looking for a part time dispenser, although you do not need to have formal training an understanding of general practice would be adventageous

Job responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

To assist the dispensary team in providing a high quality service to patients, by promoting a positive and professional image of the dispensary and demonstrating good customer care skills. Take an active role in accurately assembling orders to provide an efficient and timely service and participate in phone duties. Take part in the management of stock, including ordering, receiving, and storing of stock and actively participate in routine stock checks. Ensure the working environment is kept clean, tidy, in accordance with NPA guidelines, health and safety, COSHH.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately label and dispense medicines under the supervision of the qualified dispenser following departmental procedures.

To assist with general duties including receiving prescriptions from patients ensuring a positive and professional image of the dispensary is maintained.

Working with customers in a polite and efficient manner - face to face, over the phone, or by electronic methods, to deal with enquiries of a routine nature. Taking orders and responding to customer needs and queries within the limits of their knowledge, responsibilities and legal requirements.

To liaise with various members of the dispensary team, and patients when solving supply problems and ensuring the best service to patients and customers.

To take part in departmental stock takes and stock maintenance including: expiry date checking, re-ordering of stock, checking of orders received against delivery notes and restocking of shelves ensuring good stock rotation is maintained and completing all the necessary documentation and stock transfer using the dispensary computer system.

To return drugs via the computer system, disposing of expired or unwanted items, in accordance with departmental procedures, maximising drug usage and financial resources.

To actively participate in the midyear and year end stock takes.

To maintain standards of safety, tidiness and cleanliness within the department in accordance with COSHH and Health and Safety regulations. To ensure all working practices and Standard Operating Procedures are followed relation to topping up of sundries, temperature monitoring, archiving of prescriptions and waste destruction.

Any other reasonable duties which may from time to time be agreed with the Practice Manager.
