Looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic and proactive
Registered Nurses to join the Practice Nursing
Team.
Based in Uttoxeter, is a dynamic
forward thinking multidisciplinary team, of GP partners, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacist team, Nurse, Nursing Associates, HCA, phlebotomist and care co-ordinators. This
dynamic provides an environment for development and ongoing learning in a
Primary Care setting, which makes us proud and passionate about General Practice and to lead the way to
ensure a sustainable and manageable health care system for the future.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate, responsible and
professional individual that will be able to provide a high standard of
evidence based nursing care in an innovative and autonomous manner. To deliver the right services and care to
improve the health and well-being outcomes for our patients.
There will be ample opportunities and support
to develop your skills and knowledge as the team has a positive culture to
learning. You will be fully integrated in to the team and enjoy working closely
with clinical and non-clinical staff.
Duties include chronic disease management, cervical cytology, womens health, vaccination and immunisation programmes, wound care. Supporting junior members of staff in addition to student supervison. Maintaining QOF registers.
Main duties of the job
Applicants ideally should have experience of working in a GP Practice.
We are looking for someone who is able to prioritise workloads and capable of dealing with a range of patient queries.
- Chronic disease management- autonomous clinics- proactive management approach as well as annual LTC reviews.
- To be available as a resource for self-referral by patients with all types of wounds and minor ailments. To assess and either treat or refer such patients.
- To change dressings, remove sutures and administer injections as required.
- To perform tests such as ECG, blood and urine.
- To perform cervical smears
- Childhood Immunisations as per guidelines.
- NHS Travel Immunisations as per guidelines
- To maintain clear and contemporaneous records.
- Womens Health
- To adhere to all aspects of Health and Safety with particular attention to infection control.
- Contribute to Nurse Team dynamic
- Flexible attitude to daily tasks
- Manage and maintain Nurse admin responsibilities
- Any other adhoc duties as and when required

Balance Street Practice is set in the town of
Uttoxeter in Staffordshire. This exciting opportunity for
an experienced Practice Nurse to join our busy forward thinking dispensing Practice with
approximately 14,500 patients. If successful you will be joining and supporting
a team of 6x GP Partners, 2x Clinical Pharmacists, an Advanced
Nurse Practitioner, a Physician Associate and an expanding Nursing team that are a dedicated caring practice putting
patients at the heart of our work. You
will be joining a well establish team that undertake a variety of tasks to
support and liaise with the in-house clinical team and other local healthcare
providers in order to deliver high quality patient care and maintain accurate
pertinent information.

Assisting GPs to
help deliver effective implementation of management of patients with chronic
diseases as detailed by the Quality and Outcomes framework
Apply infection
control measures and protocol when collecting and handling laboratory specimens
and dealing with bloods and bodily fluid spillages.
Undertake annual
training (i.e. anaphylaxis and CPR) and completion of online training
Maintaining and
cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
Maintaining GP and
Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Maintain general
tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
Ordering of stock and
maintaining stock levels when required
Participation in
administrative systems in the Practice
At all times there
will be a need to maintain accurate records
A duty to advise
senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
Attend and
participate in any Practice meetings when required.
