Job summary
We are seeking an assistant to support our practice manager in effectively managing patient services and over all practice operations.
The post-holder will work closely with and under the direction of the practice manager to assist in day-to-day practice operations.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to provide support to the practice manager in the running of key systems and procedures such as staff training records, supporting the practice manager in updating practice policies, procedures, risk assessments, CQC requirements, practice communications and annual reurns and audits.
The post-holder will need to become familiar with all functions of the clinical systems and their applicatisons, plus national and local quality standards for primary care.

Balance Street Practice is set in the town off Uttoxeter Staffordshire. We have a patient population of 14,500 and we dispense to just under 6000 patients. The Practice consists of 6 GP Partners, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 Nurse Associate, 2 Healthcare Assistants, 1 GP Assistant, 1 Physicians Associate, 2 Clinical Pharmacist we also have a Care Coordination team, Medicine Management Team and Reception, Dispensary and Administration team.

You will be joining a well established team that undertake a variety of tasks to support and liaise with the in-house clinical team and other local health care providers in order to deliver high quality patient care and maintain pertinent information.

To provide support to the Practice manager in project work, and the running of key systems and
procedures such as staff training records, support 3rd party services and maintenance contractors. Supporting the Practice manager in the upkeep of employee and visiting consultant records,
summarising the significant events registers and data protection records. Support the practice manager in updating practice policies, procedures, risk assessments, CQC
requirements, practice communications, annual returns and audits. Management of the safeguarding registers and communications with safeguarding teams and
social services.
Assist the practice manager with inputting data and checking off statements as and when
required. To be responsible for the promotion, monitoring and documentation of performance and quality
standards within the practice, using IT and manual solutions under the direction of the practice
manager. To become familiar with all relevant aspects of the clinical software system.
To manage data quality issues, providing support and guidance to practice staff in the use of the
clinical system to promote quality achievement. To undertake specific assigned tasks, project support, or development / change work which may
arise from time to time.
