Job summary

The Galleries Medical Practice is currently recruiting for a qualified Nurse Associate on behalf of the Washington PCN with a past experience of working in General Practice. The role will be solely based at Galleries Medical Practice working under the supervision of senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

This is a full-time permanent post.

Salary: Band 3-4 based on experience and skills.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Practice Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence.

Be an accountable professional.

Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.

Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a Community Link Nurse.

Have the ability to work without direct supervision at times, delivering care independently in line with a patients defined plan of care, within the scope of practice expected of a Nurse Associate role.

  • Experience of General Pratice and understanding of the scope of the role of the Nurse Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • IT skills appropriate to the role
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times
  • Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be well motivated and motivate others
